Packaging solutions provider CSP Technologies has globally launched Activ-Blister desiccated blister packaging for the pharmaceutical industry.

Activ-Blister desiccant film technology monitors the internal atmosphere of each individual blister cavity to safe guard moisture- and oxygen-sensitive solid-dose pharmaceuticals leading to product stability, increased shelf life and consumer convenience and safety.

The packaging solution provides adjustability in packaging design and also curtails the need for traditional desiccant tablets in separate blister wells, leading to a slimmer, more convenient packaging form.

In addition, Activ-Blister also saves costs through reduced material usage, freight costs and fuel consumption, according to Healthcare Packaging.

Activ-Blister, with its patented technology assimilates desiccant, gas-absorption and sealing properties into the blister pack, there by extending shelf life and product performance.

Activ-Blister can absorb moisture up to 20mgs and oxygen scavenging up to 30ccs and is available in different sizes, which includes round tablets and capsules up to size 0, with either multilayer barrier films or aluminum foil blisters.
