Personal care and pharmaceutical copacker UPL’s managing director Mike Peters has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List

Peters is to receive an MBE in recognition of his services to industry in the North West.

In a statement, he said: “It is an honour to be recognised in this manner for doing something I really love. I feel privileged to receive it on behalf of everyone at UPL, and to be a part of one of the best manufacturing teams in the UK.

“We set ourselves very high standards and the whole team has worked incredibly hard to maintain this. I am proud to be associated with each and every member of a highly talented and committed team of people.

“At a time when the global economy has been tough for so many companies, the UPL team has continued to develop, improve and build upon profitability and investment for the future.”

“We believe that British manufacturing is crucial to the economy of the UK and it is alive and well in the North West”.
